In the Magpie app, the spreadsheet grid shows the first 500 bytes of a long cell, with … after it. Editing such a cell started from that shortened text, and saving it replaced the rest of the cell. The editor now loads the cell's whole value and its formatting before it opens. If the whole value cannot be loaded, the cell is not opened for editing.
