Move files between devices with Quick Transfer
Move photos and files between your phone and computer by scanning a QR code, with no app or sign-in on the other device.
Open Your images and choose Quick Transfer. The transfer starts and its QR code appears. Scan it with the other device to open a browser page; that device does not need a Magpie account. On a phone, choose Choose photos to open the system photo picker where supported, or Choose files to browse documents and other files. Image files show a thumbnail on the sending device as soon as selected, and on both devices as they arrive. On a computer, drop files on the page, or paste a screenshot or a copied file: it uploads as soon as it is pasted. A pasted screenshot is named by the time it was pasted.
Either device can add files and download files added by the other device. Choose Download all to download a ZIP. Files can be up to 25 MB each, with up to 10 files or 100 MB in a transfer.
Transfer files are temporary. The page says how long the link has left: it expires after 30 minutes without activity, and its files are removed within 24 hours of starting the transfer. End transfer closes the link and removes its temporary files.
On the device signed in to the account that started the transfer, JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP and HEIC files have a Save to Your images action. Saving uses the account's image library and storage allowance; a HEIC photo is saved as a JPEG. After saving, Open in image converter opens that image for editing, and Use in Social Media starts a Social Media post with it. Other files remain temporary.
If a transfer file cannot be uploaded, check its size and try again. For a transfer that ends early, start a new session. For another problem, Contact support.
