Review and share a Design
Invite direct collaborators, work together, and keep comments anchored to the design.
A Design file belongs to Personal or one team, and members of the team get the access the team gives them. In Share Design, under Direct collaborators, enter the person's handle, choose Viewer, Commenter or Editor, and select Add collaborator. In the mobile app, open the Design file and choose Collaborators from its action menu to add, change or remove people.
Someone who is not on the team will be invited. Once they accept, they join the team as a guest who can open this file and nothing else in the team, and it is listed on their Design Canvas page when that team is selected; see Guests on a team. Until then Share Design lists them as Invited, waiting, with Cancel. A guest of the team is added at once. Removing someone who has nothing else in the team also removes them from it, and the confirmation says so.
Viewers can look around the file, use Inspect, play Prototypes and export. Commenters can also start and reply to threads. Editors can change the Design file. People who can edit the file through its team can also add and remove collaborators, present Prototypes, merge Branches, archive the file and move it to Trash. Publishing a Library and offering the file as a Team starter need a team administrator. To show a client the design without access to the file, share a Prototype link (see Build and share a Prototype).
To comment on a spot, choose the Comment tool or press C, then click the canvas. The Comments drawer opens with the comment pinned there. Without the Comment tool, a new comment is pinned beside the selected Layer, or left unpinned when nothing is selected. Comments in the page bar shows the number of open threads. While the Comment tool is active or the drawer is open, numbered pins mark each open thread on the current Page; click a pin to read it, or choose Show on canvas in the drawer to go to it.
Choose Reply beside a thread to add a linked reply. Resolve a finished thread; turn on Show resolved to see it again and Reopen it. Comments from other people appear without reloading. Writing a username in a comment does not grant that person access or send a separate notification.
The page bar shows who else has the file open, and their cursors and selections appear on the canvas. Several people can edit at once: changes to different things are combined, and when two people change the same property, the later change is reported to the person who made it. A change to a Layer someone else deleted is skipped and reported. If your access is removed while the file is open, the editor becomes read-only; changes that had not reached Magpie stay in Recovery, where you can download or discard them.
If someone retains editing access after removal, Contact support.
