This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the acceptable ways to use Magpie. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

You agree to use Magpie in a responsible, lawful, and ethical manner. You must:

• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Respect the rights and privacy of others
• Use the Service only for its intended purpose (scheduling and appointment management)
• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Maintain the security of your account

2. Prohibited Activities

2.1 Illegal or Harmful Conduct

You may not use the Service to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading activities
• Facilitate or promote illegal activities
• Distribute or promote content that is illegal, obscene, or harmful
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse others
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Violate the privacy rights of others

2.2 Spam and Unsolicited Communications

You may not use the Service to:

• Send spam, bulk messages, or unsolicited communications
• Engage in mass bookings or automated scheduling without consent
• Use the Service for marketing purposes without proper authorization
• Distribute chain letters, pyramid schemes, or similar content
• Harvest email addresses or other user data for unsolicited contact

2.3 System Abuse and Security Violations

You may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
• Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Perform security vulnerability scans or penetration testing without prior written permission
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract data from the Service
• Attempt to bypass security measures, rate limits, or access controls
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Overload or stress-test the Service infrastructure

2.4 Intellectual Property Violations

You may not:

• Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
• Use the Service to distribute pirated or counterfeit content
• Copy, reproduce, or republish Magpie content without permission
• Remove or alter copyright notices, trademarks, or attribution

2.5 Misuse of Service Features

You may not:

• Create fake or misleading accounts
• Register multiple accounts to evade restrictions or abuse features
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the Service to schedule fake, fraudulent, or no-show appointments
• Abuse the booking system to prevent legitimate users from scheduling
• Manipulate availability or scheduling data to harm others

3. Content Guidelines

3.1 User-Generated Content

All content you create or upload (event descriptions, profile information, messages) must:

• Be accurate and not misleading
• Not contain illegal, offensive, or inappropriate material
• Not violate the rights of others
• Not contain malicious links or code

3.2 Prohibited Content

You may not post or share content that:

• Promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or intolerance
• Contains graphic, obscene, or sexually explicit material
• Exploits or harms minors
• Contains personal or confidential information of others without consent
• Promotes dangerous or illegal activities
• Violates applicable laws or regulations

4. Third-Party Integrations

When using third-party integrations (Google Calendar, Zoom, etc.), you must:

• Comply with the third party's terms of service and acceptable use policies
• Only connect accounts and services you are authorized to use
• Not abuse API rate limits or integration features
• Respect the third party's data usage and privacy policies

5. Reporting Violations

In the mobile app, report a message board post, comment, or chat message from its actions menu, and choose a reason. You can also block the person who wrote it, which hides their posts, comments, and messages from you; they are not told. Reports are reviewed by us, and content that breaks this policy is removed. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours.

6. Enforcement

6.1 Investigation

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this policy, including:

• Accessing and reviewing logs and system data
• Cooperating with law enforcement or legal authorities

6.2 Actions We May Take

If you violate this Acceptable Use Policy, we may take the following actions:

• Warning: Issue a warning and require corrective action
• Content Removal: Remove or disable access to violating content
• Account Suspension: Temporarily suspend your account
• Account Termination: Permanently terminate your account and access to the Service
• Legal Action: Pursue legal remedies for serious violations
• Law Enforcement: Report violations to law enforcement authorities

6.3 No Obligation to Monitor

While we may investigate reported violations, we have no obligation to monitor all content or activity on the Service. We are not responsible for user-generated content or third-party conduct.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
