Improved Accounts

Signing in looks like the rest of Magpie

The login, sign-up, two-factor and team invitation screens were the last pages still using the old design.

The sign-in screens predated the current look and had never been redesigned, so arriving at Magpie meant seeing a heavier, older version of the app before the real one loaded: a flat grey background, a square white box, thick borders and title-case buttons.

All four screens — log in, sign up, two-factor verification and accepting a team invitation — now sit on the same softly washed page the rest of the app uses, in the standard card, with the standard form controls, buttons and headings. In dark mode they follow the account theme like every other page.

The login page also stops showing two email forms at once. Signing in with a password is the form on the page; asking for a sign-in link by email is now behind "Email me a sign-in link", which opens when you want it and reopens by itself if a link request fails. Two-factor verification treats its recovery-code form the same way.

Nothing about how you sign in has changed. The same passwords, sign-in links, Google and LinkedIn buttons, two-factor codes and recovery codes all work exactly as before.
