With the sidebar collapsed, the tool catalog was represented by an "AL" mark that could not be opened, so the only tools reachable from the rail were the ones you had pinned. The mark is now a button: clicking it slides the full sidebar out over the page with every tool listed by name, the same drawer that workspace pages open from their menu button. Choosing a tool, pressing Escape, or clicking outside closes it and returns the sidebar to its narrow rail.
