Placeholder text used to be written in the same grey as a real value, so an empty field could look filled in — and on an edit screen, such as a contact, you had to click into each field to find out whether it held anything. Placeholders now use their own lighter colour everywhere, including the repeating rows for emails, phone numbers and addresses that were previously left on the browser default. On top of that, a form that opens with saved values in it drops its hints altogether, so its empty fields read as empty. A blank form — a new contact, a new event type — keeps its hints, which is where they help.
Placeholder hints stop looking like filled-in fields
Placeholder text is a clear step lighter across the app, and forms that open with saved values in them no longer show hints in their empty fields.
