In the synth canvas trial for website admins: the blotchy tint is finer and much fainter, the heavier wear falls only on tools and has no smudges, and the map of tools that talk to each other keeps its lines and gets no dirt. Each panel has a 3 millimetre metal lip lit on the top and left and shaded on the bottom and right, over darker rails. Cable plugs have a rubber strain relief turned along the cable, and the cable shadow is deeper. One module in four has something of its own: a display window with a trace, a horizontal meter, a rotary selector, or a knob with a numbered scale. Modules take one of four finishes in turn: powder-coated, brushed, painted with a chip by a screw, or anodized. The hero's demonstration takes more of its card and the headline is larger. The "Alternative to" line is darker. Nothing changes for anyone else.
Front page synthesizer trial: quieter dirt, plate edges, plugs and finishes
In the admin-only ?try=synth front page, the dirt is finer and kept off the big planes, panels have a metal lip, plugs have a strain relief, and modules come in four finishes.
