Magpie links now arrive with a picture

Every public page carries a preview card, so a link posted to Bluesky, X, Slack or iMessage shows what it is.

Paste a Magpie address anywhere that expands links - Bluesky, X, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage - and it now arrives as a card with the name of the thing, a line about it, and a picture, instead of a bare address.

The picture is drawn for the page. A booking page card says who you are booking with, a newsletter card names the letter and who writes it, an event card carries the date. Pages that have a picture of their own use it: a product uses its photograph, a podcast its artwork, a book its cover, a Link-In-Bio List its avatar.

This is on for every public page - booking pages, calendars and events, Link-In-Bio Lists, boards, newsletters, podcasts, books, forms, storefronts, supporter pages, presentations and screen recordings.

Pages reached by a private link - an order, an invitation, a shared recording, a presentation - preview in a chat window but stay out of search results.

The Share button also has "Post on Bluesky" and "Post on X" now, which open a compose window with the link already in it.
