In the admin Live chat console, a visitor who is signed in to Magpie now appears under their name and username instead of a number. Each visitor’s box also shows their approximate city, region and country, looked up from their IP address on Magpie’s own servers, and their local time from the time zone their browser reports.
The IP address is not stored. The location and time zone are deleted with the chat 30 days after it ends. The note in the visitor’s Live chat panel and the privacy policy now say what the host can see.
