A recording's thumbnail used to be taken automatically from one second in, which could easily catch you mid-word. The recording editor now has a Thumbnail panel: pause on the frame you want and choose Use current frame. It saves straight away.
The thumbnail is what the share page shows before the recording plays and what chat apps show when the link is pasted. Images you have added in the editor are not included in it.
