With the design preview on at /admin/site-look, the sidebar and the mobile menu show the areas in folders in place of All tools. The folder holding the current area starts open, and opening another closes it. The Dashboard and other pages outside an area have a lilac and peach wash in place of the grey one.
Nobody else sees a change.
