Improved Social Media

Social Media posts: compact image rows and a real image preview

Changed a post's images to compact rows, showed cropping settings only when an account crops, and laid out the preview images the way Bluesky does.

Changed how images appear on a social post:

  • Each image is a compact row with its thumbnail, alt text, size, and Move up, Move down and Remove. File names and the alt text explanation are gone.
  • Cropping settings appear only when an account crops images, such as Instagram. A post to Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn or X has none, and those accounts no longer show Image shape unless one was set to a cropped shape. The cropping choices are now called Crop to fill the shape and Show the whole image.
  • The preview shows images the way Bluesky and Mastodon lay them out: one at its own shape, two side by side, three as one large and two small, four in a grid. Images were sometimes stretched before, and the preview is smaller.
  • A post to one account has no Write separate text.
  • The link to set posting times explains what they are and opens Social Media settings in a new tab.
