The Spreadsheets command bar was one long strip of buttons: every command at the same weight, labels wrapping onto four lines, and Delete sheet sitting beside Undo. It is now five menus above the grid — File, Edit, Rows and columns, Format, and Data — grouped by the job they do. Undo, Redo, Bold, Italic, and the number format stay out on the bar below, because they are used constantly.
Commands that act on one thing now also appear on that thing. Right-click a row or column heading for its insert, delete, group, and freeze commands; right-click a selection for merging, sorting, validation, and conditional formatting; right-click a sheet tab to rename, duplicate, move, hide, or delete it. Right-clicking now leaves an existing selection alone rather than collapsing it.
Sheet commands have moved from the top bar to the sheet tabs, and a new All sheets button at the end of the tab strip lists every sheet including hidden ones — choosing a hidden sheet unhides it, replacing the separate dropdown and Unhide button.
On a narrow screen the bar previously hid everything after the first few buttons, leaving thirty-two commands unreachable and a Hidden sheets dropdown with no way to act on it. Every command is now available at every window width. Menus are fully keyboard navigable with the arrow keys and Escape. For Viewers and Commenters the editing commands are now shown as unavailable instead of doing nothing when chosen. The conditional formatting colour fields now use the same colour picker as the rest of Magpie.
