Static sites in Website Builder

Create a website from Markdown files and templates in a Git repository. Magpie builds it each time you push.

Choose Static site when creating a website. Magpie creates a Git repository in the selected team with a starter site: site.yml for the title, content/ for Markdown pages, layouts/ for Twig templates and static/ for files copied as they are.

Each push to the site's branch builds the site, and Build now builds it on demand. A failed build keeps its log on the site's page and leaves the live site unchanged. Magpie adds feed.xml from the posts folder and sitemap.xml, and Download ZIP gives the files of the live build.

Static sites are edited in their repository and are not shown in the native app. The Help article "Build a static site from a repository" lists the file layout, front matter and the template features that are available.
