Your language
Choose the language Magpie shows you. What you and other people wrote stays as it was written.
Magpie can be shown in English, French (Français), Spanish (Español) or German (Deutsch).
- Open Settings from the account menu.
- In Account details, choose a language in Your language.
The page reloads in the language you chose. Follow my browser uses the language your browser asks for when Magpie has it, and English otherwise; the row names the language your browser gives now.
What changes
Magpie's own words change as each part of Magpie is translated: the sidebar, the bar at the top of every page, the account menu, Search, Account settings, sign-in and error pages are translated, and each area's own pages follow one at a time. A part not translated yet stays in English.
Amounts of money are written the way your language writes them: the same
1,234.50 euros reads €1,234.50 in English and 1 234,50 € in French. The
amount and its currency never change.
What people wrote never changes: notes, documents, product names, messages and anything else someone typed are shown as they were written.
When you open a page a team publishes, such as its Store, while signed in, you read it in your language. People who are not signed in read it in the team's Language for customers.
Before you have an account
Magpie's public pages, such as the homepage, Pricing, Help and the sign-up
page, also have an address in each language: magpie.diy/fr/pricing is
Pricing in French, and /es/ and /de/ give Spanish and German. Links on
such a page keep its language. A page whose text is not translated yet shows
it in English. An account made from magpie.diy/fr/register
starts with French as its language.
The French, Spanish and German text is a machine translation that a person has not yet reviewed.
If a page shows the wrong language after you change it, reload the page. If the problem continues, Contact support.
