Write, test, schedule, and send newsletter email
Compose Markdown email, send a test, choose immediate or scheduled delivery, and understand cancellation limits.
Choose Write an email on the Newsletter page. Enter a Subject, optional Preview text (shown beside the subject in many inboxes) and the Email body in Markdown; HTML in the body is removed before sending. Save draft keeps it while you work.
Send a test to your own address sends the draft to you only, so you can check the formatting, the links and the reply address.
Send or schedule
Under Delivery, choose Send now or Schedule. A scheduled time is in the time zone shown under the field, and sending starts within a minute of it. The page names how many subscribers would get the email, and asks you to confirm before it is sent or scheduled.
The recipient list is fixed when you send or schedule: subscribers who join afterwards do not get that email. A subscriber who unsubscribes, or whose address bounces on an earlier email, before their copy goes out is skipped.
Plan limits apply to the number of subscribers and to email sent in a month.
The email's page
Every email has its own page, opened from Not sent yet or Sent on the Newsletter page. It shows its status, who wrote it, how many copies were delivered, failed and skipped, and the email as subscribers received it (or a preview of a draft). From there:
- Edit draft opens a draft again.
- Cancel email, in More, stops a scheduled or queued email before delivery begins; it goes back to being an unsent record.
- Delete draft, in More, deletes an unsent draft.
- Web copy opens the public page of a sent email, when Web copies is on in Settings.
- Share to Social Media, beside Web copy, makes a Social Media post with the email's subject and web copy address and opens it (see Write, schedule and publish social posts).
Once sending has started, an email cannot be recalled or edited.
In the native app
The native app writes and edits drafts in Markdown, shows the email history, and has a Save and send now button that asks for confirmation. If saving succeeds but sending fails, the draft stays. A saved draft's action menu sends a test to your account email address or schedules delivery; save edits first. Enter the date and 24-hour time in your account time zone, then confirm.
If a test looks wrong, fix the draft rather than the sent web copy. If a scheduled email is still waiting after its time, or canceling is refused before sending has begun, Contact support.
