Improved Teams

Team invitations no longer take a place; places are taken when people accept

Changed how a team's member places are counted: an invitation takes no place, a place is taken when someone accepts, members on leave do not count, and a team on the Team plan can go two members over its limit for 30 days.

Changed the member limit on teams.

  • Sending an invitation no longer takes a place on the team, so an admin can invite as many people as they need. A team can have up to 100 pending invitations at once.
  • A place is taken when the person accepts. If the team has no free place at that moment, the person is told, the invitation stays open until it expires, and the team's admins get an email saying who could not join and what makes room.
  • Members on leave do not count toward the limit. Setting a member active again takes a place.
  • A team on the Team plan can accept up to 2 members more than its limit for 30 days from the day it first goes over, so a replacement can start before the person they replace leaves. After that, nobody else can join until the team is back within its limit. The team page, the Members page and the billing page say where the team stands. Nobody loses access for being over the limit.
