Create a team from Your teams, then switch to it with the Personal or team selector before creating shared resources. On the website, creating a team selects it immediately and opens an optional Invite members drawer. The native app can create and select teams from its Your teams directory. The team page shows your role, members, resource access, plan and billing, and connected payments. The native app also shows current shared-team settings and lets admins change the name, colour or member access level.

Each shared team receives a colour automatically. When you create a team, its default colour is chosen against the other teams you belong to. The website's team selector shows the colour with a tinted background and the team name. A Current label identifies the selected row. A team admin can change the colour on the team page. Personal has no team colour.

Admins can invite a person by email and choose their role. An admin whose account was created with an email address and password must confirm that address before inviting anyone. A team created during setup offers the same invitations as the setup's last step; see Set up Magpie after signing up. Pending invitations can be revoked before acceptance. The Members page also lets an admin change an eligible member's role or remove them. Removal stops future access but does not reassign everything the person created; ownership remains with the team.

An invitation link can open in the native app when it is installed. The app checks the signed-in account, shows the team and role, and lets the recipient accept or decline without exposing the invitation token in the team directory.

The Member access setting controls the general level of access members receive to team resources. Individual products can impose stricter admin or editor checks for sensitive data such as subscriber addresses or payment settings.

The team page also controls Time Tracking report sharing. Members can record and edit their own time. An admin can choose whether reports show each member's own time, project totals, or everyone's entries, and separately choose whether members can see hourly rates and amounts. Shared reports are read-only; members manage their own entries from Today, Week or the entry page. Admins manage projects, tags, rates and sharing settings.

Each team has its own plan. An admin can buy the Team plan from the team's Plan row; it raises the team's limits for up to 25 members at one price, and it stays with the team when people leave or the team is transferred. See Plans, limits, and billing.

Invite members accepts email addresses separated by commas, spaces or new lines. Members and pending invitations are shown separately. Pending invitations reserve places on the plan, including when someone has not yet joined Magpie. If some emails cannot be sent, the result names them and keeps those addresses in the form for a retry.

A non-owner can leave a team. An admin can archive a team, which removes member access and takes its resources out of normal use. Archival can be blocked while the team has active financial obligations such as Supporters subscriptions or a Team plan that has not been cancelled.

An archived team is listed under Archived teams on Your teams for each of its admins, on the website. Restore brings it back with the same members, roles and resources. A restored team counts toward its owner's team limit, so restoring is refused when the owner is already at that limit.

Personal is not a team and cannot be invited to or archived. For membership or access that does not match the page's recorded state, Contact support.
