Add products by pasting JSON

Importing creates several products at once from their names, descriptions, prices and SKUs. On Products, open More and choose Import products from JSON…. Copy the prompt in the drawer copies this format with instructions for an AI assistant; give it your price list with the prompt, then paste back what it returns and choose Import products.

Imported products are drafts. A draft cannot be made live without an image, so no imported product is shown to customers until someone adds an image and makes it live.

Importing only creates products. It does not change or remove products you already have; to change existing products in bulk, use Import and export products as CSV.

The whole document is checked before anything is created, including every price. If any part of it does not fit the format below, nothing is created and the message names the product that caused it.

products is required, and holds at least one product and up to 100.

The currency is your Store's, and the document cannot change it. Write prices in that currency, with at most the number of decimal places it uses.

Every imported product is physical, tracks stock, and starts with no stock counted. Digital products are not imported, because the file has to be chosen from your file library.

After importing

Open each product from Products to finish it:

• add at least one image;
• set the stock quantity, or turn stock tracking off;
• check the price reads correctly in your currency;
• choose Make live.
