Abrir en Magpie

Open Appointments → Services. Each service has its own section, titled with its name. Click the name or description to change it, and click a value in the rows below for the duration, price, location or buffers. Type a length such as 45 min or 1 hour; the row shows it back as Magpie read it.

Add service in the page bar asks for a name only. The new service starts at 30 minutes with no price, offered by everyone accepting appointments, and its section opens so you can change the rest.

  • Description: shown under the service's name on the booking page.
  • Price: shown to customers on the booking page, in the team's currency when Appointments was set up. Appointments does not take online payment or create an invoice.
  • Location: shown to the customer once they choose the service, and in their confirmation.
  • Buffers: time kept free before and after each appointment, such as cleaning up between clients. A buffer has to fit inside the staff member's weekly hours too.

Choose who provides a service

The Staff row names who customers can book for the service. With more than one person accepting appointments, Change opens the list to choose from. Customer availability uses those members' weekly hours and Magpie Calendar events. See Add staff and set appointment hours.

Take a service off the booking page

Switch off Available to book. The service is not shown to customers and its existing appointments are kept. Switch it on to offer it again.

Require a room or item

Under Required resource, choose one resource from Resource Booking, such as a treatment room. Magpie shows a time only when the resource is free too, including its open hours and unavailable times, and reserves it with each appointment. The resource has to use the same time zone as the booking page, and a resource whose bookings need approval cannot be chosen. With no resources yet, the row links to Resource Booking to add one; see Add resources and set their hours and rules.

To change your first-run services, see Set up Appointments. For a service setup problem, Contact support.
