Ouvrir dans Magpie

Every Personal and team context has its own plan, and the Billing page names the context whose plan you are viewing. The public Pricing page compares Free, Pro and the Team plan. Choosing a plan there before you have an account carries the plan and billing interval into setup; see Set up Magpie after signing up. Signed in, its buttons open checkout for Personal or for the selected team.

  • Personal is on Free or Pro. Pro raises the limits on your own work: your notes, calendar, contacts and podcasts in Personal, and things that are always yours wherever you work, such as file storage, books, event types, video calls and screen recordings.
  • A shared team is on Free or the Team plan. The Team plan raises the limits on what the team owns (contacts, invoices, chat, notes, calendar, newsletter, Kanban boards, Supporters, podcasts and the storage for their files, and the number of members) at one price for the whole team. Members do not pay. A team on the Free plan has places for 3 members and one on the Team plan for 25.

Pro does not upgrade a team, and a team's plan does not upgrade anyone's Personal work. A team keeps its plan when people join or leave and when it is transferred to another admin.

If you were paying for Pro and owned a team when team plans were introduced, your teams, including teams you create later, still follow your Pro plan. The team's Plan page says so. A Team plan bought for one of those teams takes over from your Pro plan for that team.

The mobile app shows the selected context's plan status and bounded usage in More. On your Personal plan screen, you can buy Pro monthly or yearly through the App Store or Google Play. The store shows the price before you confirm. Restore purchases checks a subscription bought with the store account on your device. The Team plan is not sold in the app. If payment approval is still pending, the app says so. If the store reports a subscription that needs attention, check its status in the store account.

Bookings are unlimited on every plan. Pro raises limits for event types, calendar events, notes, feeds, books, podcasts and episodes, newsletter sends and subscribers, contacts, invoices, proposals, websites, Accounting bank accounts, file storage, how many teams you can own, chat, video calls, screen recordings, Idea Boards, Kanban boards and Supporters, and adds API access and Data Removal. A team on the Team plan does not count towards how many teams you can own. The Billing page is the current source for exact limits and prices.

A tool built for your team

The Team plan includes a tool that Magpie builds for the team: one the team needs that Magpie does not have, such as a tool for its industry or for the way it works. A team admin describes it on the team's page, and can ask before buying the Team plan; see Have Magpie build a tool for your team. Magpie will reply with what it would build and when it will be ready. Most tools are ready in less than a week after the team and Magpie agree what to build.

The tool uses the same records as the rest of Magpie, such as the team's contacts, calendar, invoices and files. It appears in the team's sidebar, and only the team's members can see it.

Manage a Pro or Team subscription

Open Personal plan and billing in the account menu for Pro, or the team's page and then Plan for its Team plan. Only a team admin can buy or change a Team plan; other members can see it. Where you are today on that page shows the usage against each limit.

Select Pay Monthly or Pay Yearly, enter your card on the checkout page, and pay. Card statements, receipts and invoices say Magpie. An account created with an email address and password must confirm that address before buying a plan. Dashboard shows a one-line See plans link while the selected context is on Free and you can change its plan. After payment, you return to the page that sent you to Billing when possible. Under Payment and invoices, select Manage billing to open Stripe's billing portal, where you change the card, switch between monthly and yearly, download invoices, or cancel. Offer codes apply to Pro only.

A team on the Team plan cannot be archived until its plan is cancelled.

For a Pro subscription bought in the mobile app, use Manage subscription on the app's Plan and billing screen on the same platform. The App Store or Google Play manages its payment method, receipts and cancellation. A store purchase cannot be managed in Stripe's billing portal.

The mobile app does not provide Store buyer order history, digital downloads or paid Supporters posts. This restriction applies to all accounts. Store seller administration remains available in the app.

Cancellation normally keeps the plan active until the end of the paid period. A payment being retried may temporarily show past due without removing it. When a context returns to Free, existing data is not an instruction to delete it; creating more is blocked when the applicable limit has been reached.

Complimentary Pro

Magpie can give you complimentary Pro on your Personal plan, with nothing charged. It gives the same limits and areas as paid Pro. Personal plan and billing shows it with its last day, or says it has no end date. The mobile app shows it on its Plan and billing screen.

  • If complimentary Pro has an end date, the billing page offers Keep Pro after that day. Choosing Choose Monthly or Choose Yearly there opens Stripe's checkout: your card is taken now, nothing is charged today, and the first payment is on the day complimentary Pro ends. Offer codes cannot be used for that plan. Close to the last day, a plan you choose is charged at once. If you do not choose a plan, Personal returns to Free after the last day.
  • If complimentary Pro has no end date, or ends too far ahead for a payment to be scheduled, there is no plan to buy yet.
  • If you already pay for Pro, your subscription is separate and renews as usual. You can cancel it in Payment and invoices (or in the App Store or Google Play for a mobile purchase); cancelling it does not end complimentary Pro.

The App Store and Google Play subscriptions are not offered in the app while complimentary Pro lasts.

Data Removal refunds

If you first buy a paid Magpie plan through Data Removal, you can request a refund within 30 calendar days of that payment. If Magpie has not submitted the first removal request, the payment is refunded in full. After the first request has been submitted, the refund is prorated based on the time remaining in the current billing period. This applies to the first payment, whether monthly or yearly, and not to renewals. A refund ends the paid plan and Data Removal access. Cancelling the plan does not request a refund.

Plan billing is money the team pays Magpie. Payments is the separate Stripe account used when a team receives money. See Connect Stripe to receive money. For a charge or plan state you cannot reconcile, Contact support.
