Store design, colours, fonts and menu
Choose your Store's design, logo, cover image, accent colour, fonts and announcement line, and the links in the menu at the top of its pages.
These settings are in Store settings, in the Design band. People who can manage Store settings can change them.
Design
Design sets the layout, colours and corners of every page of your Store. The designs are Starter, Minimal, Bold, Editorial and Boutique. New Stores use Starter.
- In Store settings, choose Design.
- Each design has a drawing of its layout and colours and a line saying what it looks like. Choose Use this design beside the one you want.
Your Store uses the design as soon as you choose it. Bold has a dark background with light text; the other designs are light.
Your accent colour, fonts, menu, announcement and storefront language apply in every design. While Accent colour, Heading font or Body font is Default, the design's own is used: Editorial has serif headings and Boutique has a dark rose accent colour. A draft Store opened as a preview shows the chosen design: choose View store on the Store overview, or open it with its preview password.
Logo and cover image
Logo is shown at the top of every page of your Store, beside its name. Cover image is shown across the top of the Store's home page. Choose an image from your image library or upload one; Remove takes it off the Store.
Colour and announcement
- Accent colour colours the buttons and the announcement in your Store. Choose one of the colours in your team's Brand Kits; the text on it is made dark or light so it stays readable. Default uses the design's colour.
- Announcement adds a short line above your Store's pages, such as "Free shipping this week". Leave it empty to remove it.
Fonts
Heading font sets the font of your Store's name and headings. Body font sets the font of the other text: descriptions, prices, buttons and fields.
Each menu has Default (the design's font, which is Magpie's font except for Editorial's serif headings), three built-in fonts (System font, Serif and Monospace), and the fonts in your team's Brand Kits that Magpie can show. A Brand Kit font is listed when its font family is one of the fonts Design offers, such as Inter, Lora or Playfair Display, or a common system font, such as Georgia or Arial. The row names the Brand Kit fonts that cannot be used. Font files uploaded to a Brand Kit are not used in the Store.
If you remove a font from your Brand Kit, your Store keeps using it until you choose another.
Store menu
The Store menu is the row of links at the top of every page of your Store.
- In Store settings, choose Store menu.
- Choose Add link, then Add beside All products, a Collection or a Store page.
- Put the links in order by dragging them or with the arrows.
Remove takes a link out of the menu; the Collection or page is not changed. A link to a draft Collection or an unpublished page is shown once it is published. Deleting a Collection or page removes its link. The menu can have up to 12 links.
On a narrow screen, such as a phone, the links are under a Menu button beside the Cart. With no links, the top of your Store shows its name and the Cart.
If a published Collection or page in the menu does not appear on your Store, Contact support.
