Client Portal
Share files, invoices, meetings, projects and signature requests with a client, each on purpose.
A Client Portal shows a client only what your team shares in it. Each meeting, issued invoice, Issues project, signature request and file is shared one at a time, and Stop sharing hides it again without changing it. In the portal, clients download and upload files, pay invoices, join meetings and sign.
Get started freeShared one at a time
On a portal's page, each kind of work has its own button: Share meeting, Share project, Share invoice and Share signature request. Choose the meeting, project, invoice or request, and the client will see it in the portal's section for that kind. Work elsewhere in Magpie is not shown because it is for the same client.
Each client who can sign in will get an email saying what was shared, with a button that opens the portal, while Email clients is on in the portal's details. A reply goes to the member who shared it. Stop sharing hides a shared meeting, invoice, project or signature request from clients at once, and does not change it.
Files, both ways
Drop files anywhere on a portal's page, or choose them, and the Share files drawer names the client before anything is sent. Up to 20 files can be shared at once, each up to 500 MB, and only the portal's clients can download them.
- Files from the client
- While the Files section is on, clients upload files from their Overview or Files section. Their files are listed with yours, with who uploaded each.
- Kinds of file
- Any kind of file can be shared, such as Photoshop, video and audio files, except files that can run programs and Office files that can hold macros. A ZIP is opened and the files in it are checked the same way.
- Stop sharing or delete
- Stop sharing keeps a file in the Files band, marked as not shared, with Share again. Delete deletes it from Magpie, whoever uploaded it.
Invoices to open and pay
Once an invoice is issued in Invoicing, Share invoice on the portal's page shares it. The client will see its amount, what is left to pay and its due date, and can open its PDF. An unpaid invoice is listed under For you to do on their Overview. A paid invoice stays listed as Paid.
When the invoice takes card payments (Stripe connected and Card payments on in Invoicing settings), Pay with the amount left opens the same payment page as the invoice email. The invoices offered are those for Contacts linked to the portal's client, and for Contacts linked to no client, which sharing links to the client.
Meetings, projects, signature requests and proposals
- Meetings
- Share a booking from the team's calendar or your own. Clients see it named after its Meeting type, at its time in the zone it was booked in, and the next one on their Overview. Join meeting is beside an upcoming meeting that has a Google Meet or Zoom address.
- Issues projects
- Clients see a shared project's name, status and target date. Its issues and comments stay with your team.
- Signature requests
- Share a request sent from E-Signatures, and clients see its state. A client who is one of its signers signs from the portal with Review and sign, and the request is listed under For you to do until they do.
- Proposals
- With Share in Client Portal on in a proposal's details, Proposals shares the proposal and its invoices in the client's portal when the work starts. A client who is its recipient opens it from the portal.
Sections clients see
Sections clients see, in the portal's More menu, turns each section on or off: Overview, Plans, Projects, Meetings, Proposals, Invoices, Signatures, Files and Activity.
- A section that is off
- It is hidden from clients and cannot be opened by its address. Work shared in it stays shared, and shows again when the section is turned back on.
- Tabs with something in them
- Clients see a section's tab once there is something in it. Overview and Files, which clients can upload to, are always shown while they are on.
- The Overview
- It lists what waits for the client under For you to do (steps, invoices to pay and documents to sign), then the next meeting, each active plan, the latest files and recent activity.
