Meetings

Google Calendar busy times, Zoom or Google Meet links, Slack messages and text reminders for the meetings people book.

Integrations, under Meetings, connects your meetings to Google Calendar, Zoom and Slack, and turns on text reminders. Each connection belongs to your account, not to Personal or a team. On Pro, an API key and signed webhooks connect your own programs to your meetings too.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar gives Magpie access to your primary Google calendar. The same connection shows your Google events on your Personal Calendar and can add Magpie events to Google; for meetings, it does the following.

Busy times
While Google Calendar is connected, times that are busy in your primary Google calendar cannot be chosen on your meeting page. This is always on.
Add new meetings to Google Calendar
Each new meeting is added to Google Calendar with the attendee invited. Rescheduling the meeting moves its Google event, and cancelling it removes the event.
Google Meet
When Zoom is not connected, a new meeting added to Google Calendar gets a Google Meet link, shown on the meeting's page as Join call.

Zoom

Once Zoom is connected, each new meeting gets a Zoom call. The attendee's confirmation email contains the join link, and your notification contains the host link that starts the call.

On the meeting's page
The Call row has Join call, and Host call for the host link. The Upcoming list shows Join and Host.
Add Zoom to an existing meeting
A confirmed upcoming meeting with no call, such as one booked before you connected Zoom, has Add Zoom call. Magpie will email the attendee the join link and you the host link.
Zoom and Google Calendar together
Zoom supplies the call link, no Google Meet link is made, and the meeting is still added to Google Calendar.
Cancelling
Cancelling a meeting deletes its Zoom meeting.

Slack notifications

Slack posts meeting notifications to one channel, sends them to one Slack member as a direct message, or both. A private channel can be chosen once Magpie has been added to it in Slack.

New meetings
Someone books time with you.
Meeting confirmed, cancelled or rescheduled
You confirm a meeting, a meeting is cancelled, or its time changes.
Zoom link added
A Zoom call is created for a meeting.

Text reminders

When text messaging is available, the SMS reminders section switches reminders on and sets how long before the meeting they are sent. The booking form then offers Text me a reminder: an attendee who ticks it and enters a US or Canadian (+1) number will get one text before the meeting, naming you and the time. They can reply STOP to stop reminders.

Up to 50 reminders are sent for your account each month. A text is in addition to the confirmation email, and Send meeting page can text your invitation to a +1 number as well as emailing it.

API and webhooks on Pro

On Pro, API Keys, beside Integrations, creates secret keys for the version 1 REST API. A key acts as the person who created it, with their access.

Meetings, Meeting Types and availability
List, create, read, update, confirm, cancel, archive and delete meetings, and create and manage Meeting Types and availability.
Signed webhooks
Your program is told when a meeting is created, confirmed, rescheduled, updated, cancelled, archived or deleted. Each delivery carries a signature and an ID to check before using it.
API reference
The reference describes every field, status and error, and offers an OpenAPI file.

Connecting and disconnecting

Each service's section on Integrations shows whether it is connected, with Connect or Disconnect. Google Calendar and Zoom connections are included on the free plan and on Pro.

Disconnecting stops Magpie sending anything further to the service. Meetings stay as they are, and Google Calendar events, Zoom links and Slack messages already created are kept. If Google permission expires, Integrations shows Reconnect required, and Google busy times will not block your meeting page until you reconnect.

Connect your calendar.

Create a Magpie account, open Integrations under Meetings and connect Google Calendar or Zoom.
