Add meeting types by pasting JSON
Create a whole set of meeting types in one step by pasting a JSON document.
Importing creates several meeting types from one JSON document instead of adding them one at a time. Find it on Meeting Types, under Import JSON. Use Copy the prompt in the import box to get this format plus the instructions an assistant needs, then describe the meetings you take and paste back what it gives you. Choose Import meeting types to create them.
Importing adds meeting types. It never changes or removes the ones you already have, so a second import adds to the list rather than replacing it.
The whole document is checked before anything is saved. If any part of it does not fit the format below, nothing is created and the problem is reported with the exact field that caused it. Imported meeting types count toward your plan's meeting type limit; if the document would go over it, nothing is imported.
The document
{
"meetingTypes": [
{ "name": "Intro call", "duration": 15, "description": "A quick first conversation." }
]
}
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
meetingTypes |
array, required | At least one, up to 50. |
Each meeting type:
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
name |
string, required | 2 to 255 characters. What someone picks on your meeting page. |
duration |
number, optional | Length in minutes, 5 to 1440. Defaults to 30. |
description |
string, optional | Up to 1,000 characters, shown under the name on your meeting page. |
A field not in these tables is refused. Two meeting types in one document cannot share a name, because they could not be told apart on the meeting page.
Imported meeting types are active straight away, so they appear on your meeting page as soon as the import finishes. They still only offer times your availability allows.

{ "name": "Workshop", "duration": 120, "description": "A working session for up to six people." },
{ "name": "Follow-up", "duration": 30 }
]
}
