Bookmarks
Save links in Personal or a team, file them in collections and tags, and find them again.
Bookmarks keeps a web address with the page's title, description and image, your own note, and whether you have read it. A bookmark goes to the Inbox until you file it in a collection, can have any number of tags, and is found again by search, tag, site or date saved.

Only the web address is required. A title, collection, tags and a note can be added as you save, or later on the bookmark's page. A new bookmark is unread, and goes to the Inbox unless you choose a collection.
- Page details
- Magpie will check the page for its title, description, icon and preview image. A page that needs a sign-in keeps the address you saved, and you can type its title. Check again reads the page once more, and does not replace a title or description you have edited.
- Pages already saved
- If the page is already saved in the same Personal or team, Magpie shows when it was saved and offers to open that bookmark or save another copy. Tracking parameters such as utm_source and fbclid are ignored in the comparison, and the address is kept as you entered it.
- The browser button
- Save to Magpie goes on your browser's bookmarks bar. On any page it will open a small window with the page's address, title and any text you selected, to file and save. It uses your Magpie sign-in in that browser and saves to the Personal or team you used most recently, which the window names. On a phone, paste the address into Add bookmark.
Collections, tags, notes and reading state
A collection is where a bookmark is filed, tags are labels it can have any number of, and Read, Favorite and Archived are switches on it. On a bookmark's page, the title, description and note change in place, and every change saves immediately.
- Collections
- A bookmark is in one collection at most. A collection has a name and a description, and can be shared as a page of links. Deleting a collection will return its bookmarks to the Inbox.
- Tags
- Tags are stored in lower case, with hyphens for spaces. Renaming a tag to the name of another merges the two.
- Suggested tags
- When you save a bookmark, and on its page, Magpie suggests the tags on your other bookmarks from the same site, most used first, and existing tags whose words appear in the title. A suggestion is added only when you choose it.
- Note
- Your own text about the bookmark. Search reads it with everything else.
- Read, Favorite and Archived
- Switches on each bookmark, also in the More menu on its row. Archiving keeps a bookmark but leaves it out of every list except Archived.
Find a bookmark
The lists are All, Inbox, Unread, Favorites and Archived, and each can be narrowed further.

Personal and team bookmarks
Bookmarks are kept in the Personal or team you have selected. Personal bookmarks are visible only to you. A bookmark saved in a team is visible to everyone in the team, with its note and highlights, and the team's collections and tags are shared too.
In a team that gives members view access only, members who are not admins can read the team's bookmarks but cannot add or change them.
Bookmarks is on every plan, and no plan limits how many bookmarks you save.
