RSS Reader controls and keyboard shortcuts
Move through items, mark them read, open originals, and change the timeline view.
RSS Reader supports mouse, touch, and keyboard use. Press ? on the RSS Reader page to
open the current shortcut list. The main reading commands include moving to the
next or previous entry, opening an entry, marking it read or unread, and opening
the original page.
Keyboard commands apply only while focus is in the timeline. They are ignored while focus is in a link, button, text field, or another control that uses the same key.
All includes read and unread items; Unread narrows the stream. Selecting one subscription narrows the same timeline to it. Preview, compact, and expanded control how much entry content is shown.
Opening an entry, moving to it with j or k, or opening its original page
marks it read. In Preview and Expanded, pausing with an entry at the reading
position also marks it read; scrolling past does not. Use Mark unread to
reverse that state. In the Unread view, an entry opened for reading remains in
place so it does not disappear while you are reading it; explicitly choosing
Mark read removes it from that view.
The page-bar bulk action names the number of unread entries in the current scope. When one subscription is selected, it affects only that subscription. The confirmation states the scope before changing anything. Older and newer page controls provide access beyond the first 60 entries.
Removing a subscription is broader: it removes the subscription and its entries from RSS Reader.
