A Kanban board tracks work as cards moving through ordered columns. It suits any kind of work: a hiring pipeline, a content calendar, or a public roadmap that outside people can view and submit suggestions to when enabled. Voting is limited to team members. Each board has its own columns. For bugs and product work that need identifiers, priorities, projects and cycles, use Create and track issues instead.

Create one with an owner team, name, description, and outside-access setting. A board name must be unique within its team. Names that differ only by capitalization, punctuation, or spacing count as the same name.

Board links use the short form /k/<team-slug>/<board-slug>. The team slug is part of the link because board slugs are unique within a team, not across all teams. Older UUID links continue to open the board and redirect to the short form.

Add a card to the appropriate column, then open it to edit the title and description, assign a team member, set a due date, or add comments. Dragging a card to another column records the change in the board activity log. Use the log to understand what changed rather than duplicating status updates in every card.

Team members can select a card's heart to add a vote. The heart stays red for the member who voted after the board reloads. Select it again to remove the vote.

Magpie emails the card creator when another person updates or moves their card. Changes made within 60 seconds are combined. Turn these emails off with the Kanban card updates setting on Account settings.

Workspace admins can ask the Workspace assistant to search accessible cards and, after a complete card search, list the comments stored on those cards. Comment text is bounded and deleted comments are excluded. The assistant follows the card identity saved by the card search; it does not guess a relationship from matching titles, descriptions, or author names.

When outside suggestions are enabled, people with the suggestion link can submit a title and description without managing the board. Suggested cards land in Inbox until a team member reviews and moves them. The link is an intake route, not permission to manage the board. If a team member later updates or moves a suggested card, its creator can receive the card update email.

Board settings control the description and outside access. Deleting a board deletes its columns, cards, comments, and activity, and cannot be undone. Free and Pro plans have different board limits.

In the mobile development app, opening a board shows one column at a time. Use the column row to open Choose column and see card counts. The current column is marked Current; selecting another column closes the sheet and shows that column. Close dismisses the sheet without changing columns. New card creates a card in the selected column. Moving a card is a separate action where you choose the destination column and whether it belongs at the start or end. Use the board action menu and Settings to change its name, description or outside access, manage columns, or delete the board. Card create and edit screens keep a short recovery copy on the device. The copy is scoped to your account, workspace, board, and card, and includes the server edit token so a stale edit is rejected rather than replacing newer work. Copies are removed after a successful save or delete; oversized copies remain in the editor but are not stored.

If a card move, assignment, or suggestion is not retained after reloading, Contact support.
