Choose Create board on Message Boards and give the board a name. It belongs to the Personal or team selection you are in and starts private. Its address comes from the name; choose Address under the name to pick a different one. The address cannot be changed later, so pick it before you share the board.

The new board opens next. Click its name or Add a description to write in place, and use the menu beside the name to choose Public or Private to the team. A public board can be read without an account; a private board needs the applicable team access.

Members with posting access choose New post and write a title and an optional Markdown body. Choose Add a link to make it a link post: the title then opens that page, and the text explains why it matters. Comments and replies form a discussion under the post; the comment box is at the end of the discussion and opens when you click into it. Signed-in members with access can upvote or downvote posts and comments. The score changes as soon as you click, and choosing the same vote again takes it back.

Team admins can ask the Workspace assistant to search accessible posts by title, board, body text, or creation date. The assistant returns bounded post text and safe discussion metadata; it does not create, edit, vote on, or delete posts.

The board's creator and team admins change its name, description and visibility on the board itself. The owning team and address are shown under the description and do not change. Making a board private prevents future public reading; it does not retract copies people already made.

Delete or moderate content according to the board's team rules. Do not place private information in a public post or assume an unlisted address is access control.

The mobile app can browse boards in the selected team, read Markdown posts and comments, create posts and comments, vote, and remove content you own. The board creator or a team admin can also choose Board settings from the board's action menu to change its name, description or visibility; the app asks for confirmation before a visibility change. The board creator and team admins can also remove any post or comment from the app, which is the same moderation the website offers.

Report content and block people

In the mobile app, open a post's menu and choose Report post, or choose Report under a comment. Pick a reason. The report goes to the Magpie team, who review it and remove content that breaks the Acceptable Use Policy. You are not told the outcome.

Block hides everything from that person for you: their posts disappear from the board and their comments are replaced by a note. They are not told. Undo it under Account settings, Blocked people. If a signed-out visitor can see a board that is recorded as private, or a team member cannot open one their role should allow, Contact support.
