Screen Recorder
Send a screen recording by link, on a page with its transcript, links and a form.
Every recording has a share page with a link of its own. Anyone with the link can watch the recording in a browser, without an account. You choose what else the page shows: a transcript from a Document, buttons that open other pages, a Form to fill in, and a Download button.

The share page shows the recording with its title, who recorded it, the date and its length, and plays it with your saved cuts and images. Share and Edit appear on the page only for you.
The link is the access: anyone who has it can watch, with nothing to sign in to. The page is kept out of search engines. When the link is pasted into a chat app or posted, it arrives with the recording's thumbnail, who recorded it and how long it is.
Share page settings
Share page settings, in the recording editor's File menu, sets what the page shows beside the video.
- Custom address
- Words of your choice, such as /r/onboarding-walkthrough, in place of the generated string at the end of the link. The generated address keeps working too. A custom address is still an unlisted public link, and an address another recording uses cannot be chosen.
- Transcript
- A Document you can edit, shown beside the video on larger screens and below it on smaller ones, with its web links clickable. The page shows the Document's current content, without publishing the Document on its own.
- Important links
- Up to 12 large buttons below the video, each with its own text and web address. They open in a new tab, so the recording stays open. Highlight shows one in the accent colour.
- Attached form
- A published Form of the team, shown beside the video in the Form's own appearance. Answers arrive with the Form's other responses. With a transcript chosen as well, the transcript moves below the video.
- Downloads
- Show Download button puts a Download button on the page, for an MP4 with your saved cuts and images. It is on for a new recording, and turning it off does not change the browser's own video controls.
Sending the link
Share
On the Recordings list or the share page, copies the link or opens your device's share options. Watch, on the list, opens the share page.
Text or iMessage it
Gives the link to paste into a message, where it arrives with a preview of the recording.
Invite people to watch
Emails the link to contacts of the team, and the recording's Analytics then shows how far each of them watched. Emailing invitations needs a paid plan.
Recordings in other areas
- Supporters posts
- A post can include a recording as its video. The video file can be opened by anyone who has its address, so it is not limited to supporters the way the post's text is.
- Proposals
- A proposal's Video section can play one of your recordings on the client's page, when it was made by a member of the proposal's team.
- Coaching
- A recording shared by link can be a resource in a client's portal.
- Webinars
- A recording can be a webinar's replay or its pre-recorded video. It is then private: its own link is off, it has no share page settings, and the webinar sets who can watch it.
Stopping a share link
Move to Trash, in the recording editor's File menu, stops the share page, the video and its download. Only the person who made a recording can move it to Trash.
Restoring it from Trash within 30 days brings the share page back at the same address, and no other recording can take its custom address in the meantime. A recording in Trash still uses your storage until it is deleted forever.

Create a Magpie account, record your screen and copy the link from the Recordings list.
