Create public and private calendar events
Set an event's time, visibility, responses, capacity, and attendee-name rules.
Create an event from Calendar. Enter its title and time, or mark it all day. Location and description are optional.
Admins using the Time Tracking preview can start a timer from an event in the Calendar drawer. The event title is copied into the time entry and the entry links back to the event. The timer records actual start and stop times; it does not use the scheduled event duration or start automatically.
The mobile development app can also create, edit and delete these events. Times are entered in your account timezone. Short event drafts are kept in the device's protected store while you edit. Drafts are scoped to the account, workspace and event, and are restored only when the saved event is still at the same revision. A changed event is loaded without the old draft. Drafts are cleared after saving, deleting or discarding. Large drafts remain editable but are not persisted. For a non-private event, its native invitation screen can send an email invitation, create and share a reusable link, list previous invitations, and revoke an active one. Settings for older meeting-slot events are available on the website.
Visibility
Who can find it controls whether the event belongs only in the private calendar or can appear on the public calendar. What they see controls how much detail an unprivileged visitor receives. These are separate choices: an event can make a time visible without exposing its private title or notes.
Responses and capacity
Turn on responses when visitors should say whether they are going. Set an optional capacity to stop accepting people after the limit. The attendee-visibility setting controls whether consenting attendee names may be shown to other visitors.
Calendar events no longer create new selectable meeting times. Use Meeting Types and your meeting page when someone should choose a time with you. Existing events that already contain meeting times keep them and can still be managed during the transition.
The public calendar uses your account handle. Share a specific public event when you want people to land on that event rather than browse the whole calendar. Private details are still filtered on the public route.
For a non-private event, its management page can create an invitation for one email address or a reusable link with a use limit and expiry. Email invitations work once. A reusable invitation is shown only when it is created, so copy it before leaving the page. Revoking an invitation stops unused visits without removing responses already recorded.
Signed-in visitors can respond Going or Not going. Each person separately decides whether their name may appear to other visitors; the organizer can always see the response and contact address.
If a public event cannot be opened while signed out, check both visibility settings and that its owning context is active. For a response count or privacy result that does not match the settings, Contact support.
