Data Removal uses an identity profile to find personal information that may belong to you and track requests to remove it.

See the public [[/data-removal/coverage]] page for the current list of data brokers and people-search sites covered by Magpie. The list is based on active removal procedures and can change as site processes change.

Before buying, you can also read the [[/data-removal/example-report]] and the [[/data-removal/privacy]] explanation of how Data Removal uses profile information.

Data Removal is included with a paid plan and covers one person. Being a member of someone else's paid team does not include it: a privacy profile holds your own identity information and your own signed authorization, so it is included per person rather than per team.

You do not need an account before you buy. Start data removal opens a checkout page that asks for your email address and your card. Paying creates the account for you and signs you in, and your receipt goes to the address you entered.

No password is set, because none is needed. Use Email me a link on the sign-in page whenever you want to get back in. To sign in another way, add a password or connect Google from Settings at any time.

If the email address you enter already belongs to a Magpie account, the payment is applied to that account and a sign-in link is emailed to it rather than signing you in on the spot. Open the link to start Data Removal.

Complete setup with your current name, date of birth, current address, and account email. Previous addresses, phone numbers, other email addresses, employers, and relatives can help distinguish your records but are optional.

Review the profile before you authorize privacy requests. After setup, use Overview to see progress, Removals to review each site, Reports to save and download status snapshots, and Your information to update the profile. Some sites may ask you to confirm an email or provide additional information before a request can continue.

Reports include the period covered, sites checked, records found, requests submitted, removals confirmed, open actions, and changes since the preceding report when that information exists.

Your identity profile and authorization are encrypted before they are stored. The worker decrypts only the profile values required for one broker request. Queue records and application logs do not contain a copy of your profile.

After setup, the enrollment waits for at least two hours and then requires administrator approval. No broker work starts before approval. Editing your identity information starts a new two-hour review period.

Approved broker checks and requests are queued and may not start immediately. Higher-priority sites are checked before lower-priority coverage. A request that needs email or phone verification appears under Action required. A submitted request is not marked Removed until a later check confirms that the record is absent.

Use Settings to choose whether possible matches wait for review and which updates you receive. Use Start again only when you want to clear the setup information held for the current Data Removal enrollment.

If a listing is not shown, use Request a removal and send us its web address. We will record the request and show its status when it is available. For a request whose status does not change, Contact support.

On mobile, Data Removal shows progress, covered-site statuses, and custom request statuses. Set up your profile, review reports, and complete actions on the website.

Magpie does not remove every trace of a person from the internet. Public records, news sites, social networks, and any site outside the covered list are separate. Data Removal reduces your exposure across the data brokers and people-search sites Magpie covers.

Cancelling a plan stops the next renewal. Data Removal continues to the end of the period already paid for, and then stops.

If you first buy a paid Magpie plan through Data Removal, you can request a refund within 30 calendar days of that payment. If Magpie has not submitted the first removal request, the payment is refunded in full. After the first request has been submitted, the refund is prorated based on the time remaining in the current billing period. The policy applies to the first payment, not renewals. A refund ends the paid plan and Data Removal access. Cancelling the plan does not request a refund. To request one, Contact support.
