On a live product's page in Store, choose Share. The drawer lists:

  • Product page: the product's address in your Store.
  • Buy link: one for each option of the product. It opens your Store's Checkout page with only that item, so customers do not go through the Cart.
  • Buy button for another website: HTML to paste into a page on any website.

Click an address or the HTML to copy it. Under each address, PNG and SVG download a QR code that holds that address.

Links use your Store's own domain while one is connected and live, and its Magpie address otherwise. A QR code printed with your own domain stops opening your Store if the domain is disconnected.

A buy link adds one of the item. To sell more, add ?quantity= and a number from 1 to 100 to the end of the address, for example ?quantity=3. The product's Most per order and Most per customer still apply.

A buy link opens the product page instead of checkout, with a note saying why, when:

  • the option is sold out or no longer sold;
  • the customer has to choose something first: a pay-what-you-want amount, personalisation, or a gift card's amount and recipient;
  • the Store is not taking payments yet.

In a draft Store opened as a preview, with its preview password or by a signed-in member of the team, a buy link opens the Store's home page, because a draft Store does not take orders.

If the customer already has items in your Store's Cart, the checkout has only the linked item and the Cart keeps the rest. When they next open the Cart, it shows those items again, with the linked item too if they left the checkout without paying.

Buy button

Paste the HTML where the button should appear on your website. It is a link with the text Buy and the product's name, which you can change, and a script from Magpie. The script reads the product from your Store each time the page opens, and adds:

  • the current price after the link, or Sold out;
  • a list to choose an option before the link, when the product has more than one.

The link then opens the chosen option's buy link, or the product page when that option is sold out or needs a choice made there. Without the script, the link still opens the buy link or the product page.

To sell one option only, add data-magpie-variant="…" to the link, with the code at the end of that option's buy link.

The script adds no styles. Your website can style the price with the class magpie-buy-price and the list with magpie-buy-variant. If your website sends a Content Security Policy, it must allow scripts (script-src) and connections (connect-src) from the Magpie address the drawer names.

The button reads only what your product page already shows: the product's name, image, options, prices and whether each option is available. It works only while the product is live and the Store is published.
