Quote requests from the cart
Let shoppers send their cart to you with a message, answer them by email, and record an order or make an invoice from the quote.
Turn on Quote requests in Store settings to show Request a quote in your Store's cart. A shopper gives their name, email and a message, and the items in their cart are sent to you. Their cart stays as it was.
Each request appears under Quotes in Store with a number such as Q-0001, and your team's admins and owner are emailed. The email's reply goes to the shopper.
On a quote:
- Reply by email opens your email program addressed to the shopper.
- Record an order opens the page for recording a sale by hand with the quote's items, prices and customer filled in. Change the prices, add shipping and choose how it was paid, then record it. The quote is then marked Ordered and links to the order. To have the customer pay by card later, choose Not paid yet: send a payment link under Paid by; see Manage Store orders, fulfillment, and refunds.
- Make an invoice makes a draft invoice in Invoicing with the quote's items at the quoted prices, addressed to the customer's contact (a contact is added when they have none). Add shipping or tax and change prices on the invoice, then issue and send it from Invoicing. The invoice does not record an order or hold stock; record an order as well if you want the items to leave stock. The quote is marked Answered unless it was already ordered, and the quote and the invoice link to each other. A quote has one invoice; delete the draft to make another.
- Status can be New, Answered, Ordered or Closed.
People who can see orders can open quotes; changing them and recording an order needs permission to ship and edit orders. Making an invoice also needs access to Invoicing in the team. Requests from one connection are limited to a few an hour.
If a shopper says their request was sent but it is not under Quotes, Contact support.
