Connect a domain and manage Mail addresses
Verify a domain you control, check its mail DNS records, and create mailboxes, aliases, and reject addresses.
Mail settings belong to the selected Personal or team context. A team admin adds a domain they control, publishes the verification TXT record, then checks it on the Domains page. The verification record proves domain ownership. It is separate from the MX, SPF, and DKIM records that control delivery.
After verification, publish the MX, SPF, and DKIM records shown for the domain. Check the DNS status again after the records have had time to update. DMARC is recommended; missing DMARC does not prevent Mail from receiving messages. Keep one SPF record for a domain and add the shown include value to it rather than publishing a second SPF record.
On Addresses, create a mailbox for an inbox or an alias that delivers to one or more mailboxes. A mailbox can belong to one team member or be shared with the team. Members with access can open shared mailboxes. A reject address tells the mail server to refuse messages sent there. Unknown addresses are rejected unless a team admin chooses an active mailbox as the domain catch-all. Catch-all mail can include unwanted messages addressed to misspelled or invented names.
Team admins can suspend or re-enable a mailbox or address. A suspended mailbox keeps its stored messages, but it stops receiving mail and cannot send. Remove an alias or reject address when it is no longer needed. A mailbox can be removed only when it has no stored messages; suspend a mailbox to keep its mail.
Mail server setup depends on the Magpie service being enabled for the domain. DNS records alone do not start receiving mail before the mail service is active. For help with a verified domain or its DNS values, Contact support.
