Florists and flower shops

Take bouquet orders for delivery on the day the buyer picks, and quote weddings with packages, a signature and a deposit.

Store sells bouquets and gift cards online, with a card message on each order and local delivery on the days you deliver. Wedding and event enquiries come in through Forms, couples book a consultation on your Appointments page, and Proposals sends the quote they sign and pay a deposit on, with the rest invoiced on its dates. Daily Operations holds the cooler checks and the morning's flower delivery.

Bouquets with a card message, delivered on the day the buyer picks

Give each bouquet options such as Standard, Large and Luxe at their own prices, and a Long text field for the card message, which is shown on the order and printed on its packing slip. Local delivery is offered to the postal codes you list, on the weekdays you choose, with a cutoff time: with no lead time, an order placed before the cutoff can be delivered that day.

The buyer enters the delivery address, with the name of the person it is for, on Stripe's page and pays into your own Stripe account, with no Magpie fee. Local deliveries lists the deliveries still to make, soonest first.

The cooler, the morning's flower delivery and the stems thrown away

Choose Florist when you set up Daily Operations, and it offers starter routines for a flower shop. Opening asks for the flower cooler's temperature, fresh water in the display buckets, a check that the displayed stems are fresh and a look at today's scheduled orders. A flower delivery check asks whether the delivery arrived complete and the stems are in good condition, with a photo of any damaged stems, and Closing asks how many stems were thrown away and for the arrangements to go into the cooler.

A cooler reading outside the limits you confirm becomes an incident, and a shift lead confirms the shop is ready to open.

Wedding and event enquiries, with a photo of what they like

Build an enquiry Form that asks for the date, the venue, the number of guests, the budget and the colours, with a File question for an inspiration photo, a JPG or PNG up to 10 MB. A question about the ceremony can show only when the answer to the kind of event is Wedding.

Share the Form's address or link it from your website. You will be emailed each response, give it a New, Reviewed or Archived status, and download every answer as one CSV file.

Consultations booked on your own booking page

Add a wedding consultation as a service with its length, location and the staff who provide it, and publish the booking page. A couple chooses a free time and enters a name and email address, without a Magpie account, and can reschedule or cancel from their confirmation until the notice you set.

Each booking adds an event to the florist's Calendar and links the couple to a contact, where their proposal can be started.

Wedding proposals with packages, extras and a deposit

Write the proposal in sections: a cover, text, pictures of past work with captions, pricing and your terms. Offer 2 to 4 packages, add optional extras such as an arch or petals, and let the couple set how many table centrepieces they need, between the fewest and the most you allow.

The couple chooses, signs with a drawn or typed signature and pays the deposit by card through your Stripe account, and everyone is emailed the signed PDF and a signing certificate. The payment schedule invoices the rest on the dates you set, and the final payment when you bill it.

Payments before the wedding, and monthly flowers for businesses

Each payment from a proposal is an invoice, emailed with a Pay online button, and reminders go out until it is paid. The client pays the balance by card without a Magpie account, and the payment is recorded on the invoice and added to Accounting.

For a hotel, restaurant or office that has your flowers every week, Make recurring on an invoice sends the same lines to them every month.

Contacts, posts, the rota and the books

Contacts
Each couple, venue and business client is a contact whose page lists their appointments, proposals and invoices, with a follow-up date for the next call.
Social Media
Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn posts are published at the time you choose. Instagram gets a copy cropped to the account's shape, posted from a phone's share sheet.
Staff Scheduling
Staff Scheduling publishes the week's shifts for the shop and the delivery driver. A staff profile needs only a name, and invited staff see and swap their own shifts.
Accounting
Store orders, invoice payments, Stripe's fees and payouts are added to the books, and bank statements are imported as CSV files.

Plans

A flower shop with staff fits the Team plan, at one price for the team: up to 25 members, with no limit on proposals sent or invoices created each month, or on contacts. On the free plan a team has up to 3 members, sends 5 proposals and creates 5 invoices a month, and keeps 100 contacts; the invoices a proposal makes do not count toward that limit.

Magpie adds no fee to Store sales, deposits or invoice payments; Stripe's processing fee is taken from each payment.

Questions florists ask

Can customers choose the delivery date when they order online?

Choose the weekdays you deliver, how many days after the order the first date can be, and an optional cutoff time, after which an order counts from the next day. At checkout the buyer picks one of the next 14 delivery days. The date is shown on the order, its emails, the order list and the CSV export.

Can we offer same-day delivery?

Set how many days after the order the first date can be to 0, and add a cutoff time, such as 1 PM. An order placed before the cutoff can choose that day, and one placed after it counts from the next day. Dates and times are in the time zone of the team owner's account.

Can the buyer write a card message?

Add a Long text field named Card message to the bouquet, required or optional, up to 500 characters unless you change it. What the buyer writes is kept on the order and shown on the order page, the packing slip, the order emails and the buyer's own order page.

Which areas can we deliver to, and what does delivery cost?

List the postal codes you deliver to, up to 500, where M5V covers every code that starts with M5V. A postal code you do not cover is refused before payment, so the buyer can choose another method. Set a delivery fee, and Free over makes delivery free when the cart reaches an amount.

Can customers collect from the shop?

Add a Local pickup method with the shop's address, pickup times and any instructions. Buyers who choose it are not asked for a shipping address. Mark ready for pickup will email them the address, times and instructions, and Mark collected records what they took.

Can we see all of tomorrow's deliveries in one place?

Local deliveries, in Orders, lists the paid deliveries with a date of today or later that have not been marked shipped, soonest first. Tick them and choose Packing slips for a slip for each order, with its card message and without prices, and a pick list totalling the bouquets across them.

Can our driver see deliveries without seeing the money?

A team admin gives each member only the Store permissions they need, such as Ship and edit orders, to add shipments and mark orders ready for pickup. The payment account and payouts are for team admins only, and a team admin chooses the areas each member can use.

Can we take orders over the phone?

Record the order with New order, choosing the bouquet, the customer and the delivery address, then Not paid yet: send a payment link. Magpie makes a Stripe payment page for the total and emails it to the customer, and the order is marked paid when they pay. Add the delivery date and card message to the order's history as a note, which only people who manage the Store see.

Can customers buy gift cards?

A gift card product has amounts you set and, if you choose, a custom range. The buyer has it emailed to someone on the date they pick, with a message, and it pays for bouquets and delivery in your Store. A bought card never expires and carries no fee. While Stripe Tax calculates your tax, gift cards are not taken at checkout.

How do wedding enquiries reach us?

Through an enquiry Form at its own address, with the questions you choose and a File question for inspiration photos. Anyone with the link can answer without a Magpie account. You are emailed each response, the Summary counts the answers to each choice question, and Export CSV downloads every answer.

Can couples book a consultation online?

Publish an Appointments booking page with your consultation services. The couple chooses a service, who with or Anyone available, and a free time, and gets a confirmation email with a link to reschedule or cancel. A time is offered only when the florist's hours and Calendar leave it free.

Can a couple choose between packages?

A pricing section can offer 2 to 4 packages, each with its own lines, and one marked Recommended. Extras in a section of their own can be optional, and a line can let the couple set the quantity within your limits. Their page works out the totals again each time they change a choice.

How do we take a deposit?

Make the first payment in the payment schedule a deposit on acceptance, as a percentage or an amount. When the couple signs, its invoice is issued and Pay deposit takes the card payment through your Stripe account. Magpie takes no fee; Stripe's processing fee applies.

Can the balance be due a month before the wedding?

Add a payment on a date, as a percentage or an amount, and its invoice will be issued and emailed on that date, with reminders until it is paid. The final payment takes whatever is left when you bill it, so the invoices add up exactly to the accepted total.

What do we get when a couple signs?

Every recipient and you are emailed the signed PDF and a signing certificate. The certificate lists each signer's name, email address, signing time, IP address and browser, the agreement text and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the signed PDF. The proposal's More menu has Signed PDF and Signing certificate.

Can we see whether the couple has read the proposal?

Activity lists each opening, by whom, when and on what kind of device, and Reading time shows how long each recipient spent on each section. The proposal's owner is emailed when it is first opened, asked about, signed, accepted, declined or paid.

Can we change a proposal after sending it?

Revise starts the next version as a draft. The couple keeps seeing the version they were sent until you send the new one, which emails them that it was updated, with your note on what changed. Earlier versions stay readable.

Can we keep a record of the cooler's temperature?

The Florist starter adds a temperature point for the flower cooler, with starting limits for a manager to confirm, and Opening asks for its reading. A reading outside the target range becomes an incident with what to do next. Reports count readings and incidents over up to 366 days and download the readings as a CSV file.

Can we bill a hotel or restaurant for weekly flowers each month?

Make an invoice with the month's arrangements, then Make recurring in its More menu. Magpie will issue and email an invoice with the same lines every month, each with its Pay online link. Change the lines, pause the schedule or end it from its page.

Can we record sales made in the shop?

New order records a sale paid in cash, on your own card terminal or another way. The order is created paid, its items leave stock, and the customer can be emailed a confirmation; Accounting holds the money in Undeposited funds until you record the deposit.
