Sell Inventory stock in Store
Link a Store product to an Inventory item so its sales come out of a pool and Store shows what the pool holds.
Inventory is marked Coming soon. Only Magpie administrators can access it.
A Store product can use an Inventory item's stock in one pool, so the same stock is not counted twice.
Link a product
A team admin opens the item in Inventory and chooses Link a Store product under Sold in Store. Choose the Store product, the pool its sales are taken from, and how much of the item one sale uses: 1 for a single can, or 6 for a six-pack made from single cans. Only Store products with stock tracking turned on can be linked.
If the pool has none of the item yet, the Store product's current stock moves into the pool, at Store's cost per item. Otherwise Store's stock is set to what the pool holds.
What changes
- A Store sale, restock or stock change you record in Store is also recorded in the pool. Stock you record in Store as damaged or lost is recorded in Inventory as waste, so it appears on Daily Operations' Waste page for a location that uses the pool.
- A change made in Inventory, such as a delivery, a count or a move, sets the Store product's stock to what the pool holds, in whole sales. Store's stock history lists it as Changed in Inventory.
- Store still holds stock for checkouts in progress, as before.
Unlink stops this. The Store product keeps the stock it shows at that moment, and Store records its stock again.
