Signing starters
Keep a document with its signer roles, fields and email text as a starter, and start each new signature request from it.
A starter is a document with the people who sign it named by role, such as Client and Contractor, and their fields already placed. It also keeps the signing order, expiry, reminders, subject and message. Starters lists the starters of Personal or the selected team, with how many times each has been used and how many roles and fields it has.
Make a starter
- New starter on Starters uploads a PDF, under the same limits as a request. Add a role for each party under Add a role, place each role's fields, and set the other details as on a request; see Send documents for signature.
- Save as starter, in a request's More menu, makes a starter from that request. Each signer becomes a role, named after the signer's role, or Signer 1, Signer 2 and so on; names and email addresses are left out.
A role can have a default email address, for a party who is always the same person. Open a starter to change it; the changes apply to requests started from it afterwards, not to requests already started.
Start a request from a starter
Choose Use starter on Starters or on the starter's page, or Browse starters under New request. A draft request opens with the starter's document, roles, fields, settings and email. Enter each signer's name and email address, then choose Send to signers.
Duplicate, archive and delete
A starter's More menu has Duplicate starter, Archive starter and Delete. An archived starter is not offered when starting a request, and is listed under Archived starters, where Restore starter brings it back. Archiving, changing or deleting a starter does not change requests already started from it.
In the mobile app, you can start a draft request from an active starter and send it; making and changing starters is on the website.
